Teddy Eddie 5 Levels 5 Teddy Eddie Standard
Teddy Eddie Standard

Who is this level for?

Learning English using the Teddy Eddie method is first and foremost intended to build a love of a foreign language in children, and then, thus motivated, they continue learning in the years to come! Children as young as 4 or 5 years old often already have English lessons which provide a firm foundation. However, it is Teddy Eddie that really makes the most of the children’s enormous linguistic potential.

Beginners and graduates

Teddy Eddie Standard lessons are open to both Teddy Eddie Start graduates and children who are beginners.

4 to 5-year-olds

Children can start the Standard level at 4 or 5 years.

What will your child gain?

Full language immersion

Lessons are taught in English, which means that communication in this language very quickly becomes natural for your child.

Communication benefits

The natural need to communicate means that, when properly encouraged, children are eager to try to express themselves in a foreign language.

Pronunciation and intonation

Due to their still-flexible speech apparatus, younger children acquire natural English pronunciation and intonation better.

Effortless learning

Teaching English through play makes it an enjoyable experience for children and is also a way for them to learn in a stress-free way.

What are the activities like?

Teddy Eddie Standard lessons are tailored to 4 and 5-year-old learners. The teachers focus on language games and movement, there are lots of recordings, and vocabulary is always practised in sentences.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have any questions about the Teddy Eddie Standard level? Check if the answers are in the following section. If not, feel free to contact us.

Does my child need additional English apart from preschool and school activities?
Kindergarten and language school activities are not mutually exclusive. English with the Teddy Eddie method is a challenging course that boosts the enormous linguistic potential of children. It is distinguished by a multi-year learning plan, a language-rich Education Pack for each student and a thoughtfully designed system of contact with the student’s parent. In addition, in Teddy Eddie lessons your child will meet a different peer group, which is an opportunity for him or her to form new relationships.
Why will my 5-year-old go to lessons with 4-year-olds?
Teddy Eddie allows a year’s difference between students in one group. Little learners have similar social skills at this age. A year’s difference at this developmental stage is not significant and it is really easy to design a lesson that is suitable for 4 and 5-year-olds.
Why are beginners and graduates put together in one group?
Every young children’s group is more or less a mixed ability group. The Teddy Eddie method and the course materials are therefore prepared in such a way that all students can take the maximum knowledge they can from the lessons. Also, the materials for the teachers suggest how to work with groups that include beginners and graduates.
Why is my 5-year-old child at Teddy Eddie Standard level for the second year?
The Teddy Eddie method is built so that children can spend up to two years at the same level. This is not a problem because the course book changes and therefore the child learns different material.
There is a lot of material in the course book! Will my child assimilate so much knowledge?
Although there is a Teddy Eddie core curriculum, our method offers children a little more than they are capable of learning. We want to surround learners with English in a way that is to some extent similar to their mother tongue learning process – after all, children function right from birth in a world where everyone speaks to them in a language they don’t understand at first. By getting used to the English language, by functioning in the midst of a wide range of educational material, the children take in as much as they can for themselves. And this allows them to make progress at their own pace.
