Frequently asked questions

Do you have any questions about the Teddy Eddie Superhero level? Check if the answers are in the following section. If not, feel free to contact us.

What is the global reading in Teddy Eddie Superhero?
The global reading method involves memorising words as a whole, seeing them as pictures. This avoids mother tongue spelling or syllabification which could lead to unnecessary embarrassment for children who find those activities difficult. So your child does not need to be able to read brilliantly in their mother tongue to cope with global reading in Teddy Eddie lessons.
Isn't my child now too big for a Teddy Eddie bear?
Teddy Eddie Superhero is the final level in the Teddy Eddie method. We know the needs and expectations of 7-year-old children, so this time the teddy bear has taken the form of a Superhero who gives children superpowers related to the English language. This version of our teddy bear and the overall material makes Teddy Eddie Superhero a perfect fit for this age group.
Is there a lot of repetition of Teddy Eddie ABC at the Teddy Eddie Superhero level? I don't want my child to be bored.
The whole Teddy Eddie method is based on a system of repetition. Building on the material already learnt and the skills acquired, the teacher can demand more and more from the students and develop them further and further. Repeated material is never presented in the same way. There is always an element that changes, children speak more and more on their own, they begin to play with previously learnt stories, and they consciously substitute and mix elements of speech. There is definitely no boredom in Teddy Eddie!
Are there compulsory homework assignments in Teddy Eddie Superhero?
Yes, an integral part of the Teddy Eddie Superhero course is the systematic completion of homework tasks by the child (under the supervision of a parent). These assignments can take various forms: listening to recordings, playing games in the Playground, and doing exercises in the Workbook.
By giving homework assignments, we are already building solid habits in children at this point in their education, which are essential when continuing with the Teddy Eddie method, i.e. in Savvy Ed lessons.
How do I prepare my child for the follow-up to Teddy Eddie, the Savvy Ed method?
After completing the Teddy Eddie Superhero level, children may be eligible for Savvy Ed lessons if this course is available in your language school’s offer (check HERE). However, it is not enough to just attend the lessons, it is crucial that your child is active on the Playground app. Regular listening to recordings and playing games builds a habit in your child of reaching for English at home too, and this is definitely what the Savvy Ed course calls for.
*Savvy Ed method available in selected areas. If it is not available in your country, the Teddy Eddie brand owner, Edu Bears, will advise the language school on alternative courses.

Continuity in the learning process

Teddy Eddie Superhero is the final level in the Teddy Eddie method. Look at the next elements of this challenging learning path and see what’s in store for your child!

Savvy Ed 1

Communication and reading development

Savvy Ed is a method for older children. They continue to learn English at a very high level, in which communication and the gradual acquisition of a high degree of competence in reading are priorities.

Savvy Ed 2

Communication and writing skills development

Students consolidate the material they have previously learnt and gradually develop their foreign language writing skills. The material is compatible with the level of the Cambridge English: Young Learners – Movers exam (Council of Europe level A1).

Savvy Ed 3

Communication and grammatical awareness

The final level of the Savvy Ed method is about integrating all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Emphasis is placed on grammatical correctness. The material is compatible with the level of the Cambridge English: Young Learners – Flyers exam (Council of Europe level A2).

Edward’s League

Relationships and systematisation of acquired knowledge

In the Edward’s League method, we introduce elements of what we call real English, i.e. authentic, personalised language in a real-life context – as spoken by native speakers. Through this, students begin to understand and learn to use English in everyday situations.
