Teddy’s story!

How did it all start with Teddy Eddie, a method which is now taught to tens of thousands of little learners in Poland and several other countries as well? The story begins with three women – mothers and methodologists – who were looking for the perfect language course for their preschool-aged children. Nothing met their requirements: they wanted to be able to guarantee high quality content, take care of the children’s needs and take into account the way they develop, at the same time not forgetting the organisational issues. And that is why Diana Kubica, Magda Duchnik and Ola Komada got together with a team of specialists and created Teddy Eddie – effective English for 2 to 7-year-olds.

Diana Kubica

A Polish and English teacher by training. Became an author, entrepreneur and boss through experience. Owner of the CLAN CITY schools and Cambridge English PL 277 Authorised Examination Centre, and co-owner of Edu Bears education company. She has more or less always known intuitively how to teach effectively, and has been using this gift for years to create successful teaching methods. She believes that exploring the world broadens people’s horizons and changes them for the better, and that in this the English language is invaluable, not to say indispensable.

Magda Duchnik

Owner of the CLAN4YOU language schools in Tarnowskie Góry. Her ambition and dream is to develop the full potential of every child. Each year she organises language camps for children and young people, and is currently working on a project for holiday trips for mothers with young children, combined with language learning for both. Outside of work she is the mum of Alicja and Kuba, a lover of British, Monty Python-style humour and a fan of Italian cuisine.

Ola Komada

President of Edu Bears, a company whose mission is to make a positive impact on the language education of the very young. She believes that all children have huge potential that just needs to be skilfully drawn out. She promotes the ideas of relational education, respecting little ones and taking care of their well-being. She is an active methodologist, English teacher and dedicated mum, which all means that she is really close to the subjects she deals with every day.

Edu Bears appears on the scene

As time went on, the need to continue with the Teddy Eddie course grew stronger. Teddy Eddie graduates were achieving success in primary schools, but there was no method for them that was just as challenging, with which they could continue to develop their English skills. And so first Savvy Ed (for 7 to 10-year-olds) was created, followed by Edward’s League (for 11 to 14-year-old students). Together with Teddy Eddie, they create a challenging learning path that makes it possible for students to reach high school level English while still in primary school.

And who is behind it all? The methods are overseen by Edu Bears, the owner of the Teddy Eddie brand, Savvy Ed and Edward’s League. Our ever-growing team ensures that, among other things, as many parents as possible have the chance to hear about Teddy Eddie and give their children the opportunity to learn effective English in a way that is both fun and a high-quality language education.

What are our values?

In teaching toddlers and kids, we have been guided from the beginning by the values of challenging objectives implemented in a friendly, fun atmosphere. The children have great fun in their lessons and don’t even know they are learning English at the same time. We want them to feel good about themselves and have a positive association with Teddy Eddie.

We teach AMBITIOUSLY and UNCONVENTIONALLY

Effective English based on language-rich material. Lessons are interesting, based on fun and positive cooperation. We guarantee spectacular results!

We care for the child’s WELL-BEING

We respect the well-being of young learners, teach them independence and build a sense of agency in them. We know that children’s emotions are important.

We believe in PARENTAL COMMITMENT

A well-thought-out system of contact with parents provides them with ongoing information about their child’s progress. Ongoing guidance is given to them on how to support their child in learning English.
